Route

Start: National Theatre, Southbank, London

Mid point stop at Ifield College, Crawley

Finish: Madeira Drive, Brighton seafront

Length: 59 miles / 95 km

Please note the event has been postponed due to a significant rise in Coronavirus cases in Brighton & Hove and will now be taking place on Saturday 18 September 2021. Materials are currently being updated. The plans are the same, with the pre-event launch on Friday 17th September; and the Rally itself, the E-Village on Brighton seafront, and the post-rally prize-giving ceremony on Saturday 18th September.

Our aim with the London to Brighton Electric Vehicle Rally is for everyone to have a thoroughly good time!

The route has been designed to be easy to follow but also stay off the big roads and take in the best the region has to offer: The picturesque Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Sussex Weald and Ditchling Beacon, the highest point in East Sussex from where you will get a panoramic view of the city of Brighton & Hove… and the finish line!

The route also takes into account the necessities of life, incorporating places to spend a penny and get refreshment, as well as a Halfway stop at Ifield community College, Crawley where you will have an opportunity to use the facilities, grab a coffee, have a chat with other participants, grab an emergency top-up charge if necessary and then carry on on your way. There are two further checkpoints along the way where observers will record vehicles passing in order to qualify for an official rally finish.
